---"Watch
out! You're headed for the ditch!"
Pssst! Remember me?
Yeah, I know it has been entirely too long
since I have
emailed you. What can I say?
It has been a very busy month.
My wife was the local event
coordinator for the National Day of Prayer
celebration on
May 1 for our county. While busy
with this event she came
down with pneumonia.
Needless to say, I had to help her with
this event--helping
her with publicity, planning, and setup.
Helping her with
the kids, with things around the house.
So the last weeks
of April were very busy!
Thank God (we did!) that it all
came together. It was what
some called a 'new beginning' for the
community and churches
in our area.
In the middle of all that, my 19-year-old
son decided to get
married. So now I have a new
daughter-in-law.
Then, to balance it all out, David,
my youngest son--he was
five in February--decided he wanted
to learn to drive.
Actually, he's been driving since he
was 3. He saved his
money, and we helped him buy his own Silverado
pickup truck
for Christmas, 2001. Battery operated,
2 forward speeds,
and one reverse. It was really a
fun Christmas...
Anyway, a few weeks ago, he started helping
me steer my
S-10 pickup truck while driving down our
lane. We live about
a mile off the main road down a gravel
(chip & seal) road.
One day I asked him if he wanted to sit
in my lap while he
guided the truck down the road. YES!
was his quick response.
Now, every time he and I go somewhere in
the truck, he wants
to drive out to the main road. Of
course, I am operating
the gas pedal and the brakes. And
I closely monitor his
steering.
Our country road has some big trees lining
the way which
would put a nice dent in the truck should
I not apply the
brakes in time.
One day David was not quite as attentive
as usual, and he
had the truck heading off the road.
"Watch out! You're headed for
the ditch!" I warned as I hit
the brakes and corrected the steering
error. (There was no
real danger...just a lesson to be learned.)
David and I discussed the importance
of staying on course.
I realized my responsibility as David's
teacher to show him
the right way. David was the
student. I was the teacher.
I was his mentor.
It brought home the truth to me that as
we try to change
direction in our lives, to do something
new...often we need
a teacher. A mentor.
We learn by doing. Often we learn
by messing up. Having
a friend to help us, to mentor us along
the way, often makes all the difference in the world.
Who are you following? Who are you
trying to be like?
Are you trying to follow more than one
guru or coach?
Do you change mentors like you change
the oil in your car? Every three months?
You need direction. You need consistency.
You need purpose.
Get out a piece of paper and a pencil.
Write this down...
My purpose for living is to (fill
in the blank).
I will work toward that purpose by
(fill the blank) today.
Tomorrow I will (fill the blank)
to further my purpose.
By this time next week, I will (fill
in the blank).
Now send that to me in an email==>
mypurpose@i-65.com
If you are serious about making a change...you
will send the
email to me today. If you are not
serious, you won't...

Last issue I promised information on online
auctions. One
research project I did was to buy a software
program called
Hotbidz. It allows you to
search a category on Ebay and
list the items by which ones have the
most bids.
You can find out what is selling on Ebay
in just a few
moments rather than having to scan all
of the listings
manually and taking hours to come up with
the same data.
It sells for $24.99.
You can get a demo copy for free.
If you like it, you pay
the license fee and then validate your
copy to turn it on
completely.
If you are serious about Ebay auctions,
check it out.
The website is located here: http://www.code9software.com

OK, how much would you pay for 77
instant auction answers?
Karol Gajda will let you decide.
Really! Don't believe me?
Go here==> http://www.instantauctionanswers.com
(I paid $19.77)

Sorry there was no personalization in this
issue of the
ezine. This ezine had to be sent
out manually due to list-
serv technical difficulties. Hopefully
everything will be
back on track and working properly very
soon.
Look for another issue of "Making Money
Online After 50"
sooner, than later.
Til the next time,
Be blessed,

P.S. I don't have the auto-removal/unsubscribe
links
working in this issue due to the list-serv
problem.
So how about just hanging around for another
issue?
(No? OK, send me an email with your
departure request
in the subject field.)
